This has been quite a busy week for me. Usually, there isn't quite so much going on, but work has been busy and then there are the extracurricular activities combined with school (time and work). It is crazy!
Last night, we had a planning meeting for the Tacoma Word! event. Lots of good ideas!! I hope that we can just get it all to come together in time. Yikes!
I got home from the meeting, just in time to see the mess that Kate had made of herself. It was awful, but funny at the same time. I was on the phone with Tim while I was driving home, and all of a sudden I hear him yelling and irritated. It took him a minute to tell me what was going on, but apparently, Kate had come running into the house, completely covered in mud. At the time, he couldn't figure out how she could be muddy because it was 85+ degrees outside and dry as a bone. I got home and she was waiting by the front door, almost unrecognizable. All of her white parts were covered with black mud. Of course, the first thing that I had to do (after keeping her from jumping on me) was to grab the camera. I think that irritated Tim even more, but she was so cute. She knew that she was in trouble though because she looked very guilty. What had happened was that the hose in the backyard had been leaking out onto a patch of ground. It just happened to be a spot where there really wasn't any grass, so Kate started digging. Subsequently, the water kept trickling into the hole she was digging, and she came up with quite the mud bath. As soon as Jessica gets up, I'm going to have her upload the pics so I can post them. After Jessica and I got home from the store, Jess gave her a bath while I started dinner. Too funny.
I'm looking forward to this weekend because I've got a little bit of fun stuff coming up. On Saturday, I'm going to get to hang out with Tammy, my new friend from good ol' PHS. I didn't know her when we went there, but we connected through the Tacoma Writers' Meetup and she is a great person and totally cracks me up. We're going to lunch tomorrow and then the TW have a "field trip" to Jay Bates' "River and Sound Review" production at the library. For those of you who don't know about RSR, check them out at http://www.riverandsoundreview.org/. Very cool stuff going on there. Jay is amazing and I think he's totally onto something grand in the making. :) After that, I'm probably going to get some housecleaning done (yuk) and then get ready for a wedding. Shauna, a family friend, is getting married Saturday evening. I guess I've known her since she was a baby. I don't really remember her until she was probably four or five, but she was around a lot when we were growing up because we lived surrounded by her family. Anyway, it will be a nice evening. I haven't been to a wedding since Casey's wedding last May.
