Get Messy Art Journal Blog Hop

Welcome to the Get Messy blog hop... or at least a portion of it. :)

In case you didn't know, Get Messy is a wonderful blog by Caylee Grey. She's hosting an art journaling workshop with the theme (this season) of Love. If you join in, you get weekly prompts and a lot of fun.

I've been so sick lately, that I haven't had much time to play around with my journal or the prompts. But I selected one of the prompts that had to do with finding one of your favorite quotes about love and journaling about it. I have always been a huge fan of Leo Buscaglia and his work with Love, so I knew I'd have to choose a quote from him. I didn't get to do a physical journal page, but I threw together a quick five-minute digital page so I'd be done in time (with about an hour to spare) for the blog hop. I'm still hoping to play on paper because I just bought some yummy acrylic paints from the new craft section at Target (FUN).

Anyway, here is my digital page. I used the Mixed Media Monthly main kit and some add-ons from March's subscription at The Lilypad.

The quote may be a little morbid, but its intensity really spoke to me. You just don't want to miss an opportunity for love.

Anyway, that is it for me today.

Up next is France

October Scrap Pages

I've been scrapping a lot lately.  It can sometimes seem crazy to make so many pages, but at other times, I am excited that I've been able to be creative several days a week.  Over at Pixelscrapper, they had a "layout a day" challenge.  My goal for the month was 31, and I met it, which made me happy because I usually don't reach goals.  Here are the pages I created in October.

What I've Been Up To

My poor blog is so neglected.

I've been doing the occasional post over at One Story Down, weekly new-release posts over at Sissy Sparrows, and now a couple of posts a month at My Scrapbook Art's blog Home Is Where the Art Is.

Between blogging at other sites, homework, wrangling a 3-year old, scrapping for creative teams, I didn't think I had much time or energy.  Then my 93-year old Grandma got sick three and a half weeks ago, and I've been advocating for her.  The first week, I took her to the ER three times, and to her doctor once.  I stayed with her a couple of days to make sure she was okay.  The last trip to the ER landed her a hospital admission, so she has been in the hospital since.  She ended up with a pacemaker (that no one proved to me that she really needed), but is on the mend and now transferred to the rehab unit of the hospital so she can regain her strength and work to get back home.

Life has been a blur the last month and a half.  Crazy times.

Here are a few of the layouts I've done to keep myself from losing my sanity.
