Hung Up On Challenges | A MSA Post

I don't know about you, but I have a thing for challenges.
Sometimes I get stuck in a rut with creating scrap or journal pages. Sometimes I get bogged down in all of the things that "need to be scrapped." Sometimes I feel a lack of confidence or get all negative and wonder why I am creating pages in the first place. So at those times, taking on a challenge may get me out of that rut or make me stop the stinkin' thinking. It may give me a different perspective. It may help get me back into the swing of things. Even if I don't take on or complete the challenge, just thinking about it can give me the boost I need. And there are a lot of challenges to be found. I thought I'd share some of those around digiland (and beyond) that can give your creativity a boost.
My Scrapbook Art. That's right. Challenges right here.  Photo-a-day, Template, Journaling... all can be found in the blog.
The Lilypad. This month they are hosting their second annual Month of Challenges.  Complete 31 challenges in the month of January and you could win $20 to the TLP store. Besides the MOC, the Lilypad is also holding their regularly monthly challenges.  Seven challenges and you can earn a discount coupon to the store and also a chance at a temporary spot on the store team. And if that isn't enough for you, they also host "Trend Watch" and "Polly Picks" challenges.
Scrapbookgraphics. They have a wide variety of ongoing challenges such as: Launch Zone, Word Art, Outside the Box, Color Inspiration, Media Inspiration and more. Most of the challenges have no deadline (they are ongoing), but your participation could win you coupons to the store. There is also the Painted Nest challenge that is a monthly challenge sponsored by Sissy Sparrows. You get free elements to be used in a page and then could be selected to win a discount coupon to the Sissy Sparrows' store.
Designer Digitals. They have two different challenges.  There is a monthly challenge section of the forum where you complete pages and earn a discount coupon at the store. Then they have other challenges that are more like prompts (for fun) where designers give free elements for each weekly challenge (some of those include: color, template, ad inspiration, type inspiration, etc.).
Scrap Orchard.  Scrap Orchard has monthly challenges where you can earn points by submitting layouts and get a discount coupon to the store.
DigiDares. The Darers put a creative spin on challenges because each Darer comes up with new twists.  Each week, there is a new challenge. They are taking the month of January off, but will resume challenges in February.
Scrap Art Studio. There are a variety of challenges throughout the month that can earn you a store credit.
The Digichick. There are a new set of challenges at the Digichick. They will have Designer challenges, Featured Product, Month in Review, All About Me and others.
OScraps. The challenges at OScrap are changing and now participation will earn you a discount to the store. They have monthly challenges, Designer Spotlight challenges and more.
Pixels & CompanyPixels and Company has a unique challenge system where you can combine elements from each level of challenge to earn points that will get you a store discount. They also host other challenges throughout the month in the forum.
Pixelscrapper. Pixelscrapper is currently running a layout a day challenge. Marisa asked everyone to come up with their own goal for the month and provides prompts/challenges to help meet the goals. Pixelscrapper also has Designer challenges to help those who want to get into designing.  She provides a weekly opportunity for people to create parts of a kit and get their designer scrap on!
Studio Calico.  They have a lot of different challenges (most aren't digi-related), but you can always tweak them to suit your needs.
Sketch Savvy. The Sketch Savvy blog isn't associated with a store, but Susan provides a sketch each month to get your creativity started.
Sweet Shoppe Designs. Sweet Shoppe has changed their challenges. They now offer up a new challenge every week, and if you complete them, you earn a bigger discount to the store. They still have their former challenge booklets as inspiration in the shop.
CSI: Color Stories Inspiration. CSI offers a new challenge every two weeks. They provide a color palette, elements that you have to use, and other inspiration. They offer physical digital supplies to the winners of the challenges, but they welcome digital scrappers to play along. You do have to become a member of their (Ning) site to see the challenges/play along.
Documented Life Project. This is a physical art journal challenge, but you could also do it digitally. There are no prizes other than the feeling of completing your gorgeous pages. Most of the participants are completing their pages in a journal/planner. They give out a new challenge/prompt every Saturday.
Deviant Scrap. They often have fun challenges to get you thinking outside of your comfort zone and creating works of art. They currently have an Artist Trading Card swap going on that is a lot of fun.
And here are some inspiration pages from different challenges around digiland.
